Last December, Dave Brubeck died a day short of his 92nd birthday. He had been playing and touring with his family and the tradition has been maintained. The Brubeck Family played seven UK concerts in seven new venues prior to arriving for five gigs at Ronnie's. It was an enjoyable evening but Dave was special and the magic was missing even though the concerts are a sell out.
It was good to catch up with James Pearson, Ronnie's musical director, who played with his band just before the Brubeck's. He is such a brilliant pianist.
