Welcome to my new website

Many of us over 60 are counted out when part-time jobs come up despite our collective wisdom and abilities.

To counter some of this prejudice I have dispensed with sending my CV and have instead created The Complete Picture, an animated ninety second overview of my life to date @ https://vimeo.com/223960456.

Judge finds largely in our favour over future of Bath Rec. Ground

Six of us started to think about the future of Bath Rec and its rugby club in September, 2012.

The six were:

Ken Loach, President of Bath AFC
David Taylor. MCC member and former Bath FC (rugby) player
Joe Downey, Bath FC supporter and local cricketer
David Dolman, former Sport England
David Gay, former Bath FC & England
and myself, former Bath FC & England

We met irregularly but entertained Don Foster MP who was resolutely behind the plans of Bath FC which would change the original trust's intentions allowing them to enlarge their footprint and many other things besides.

We tried to engage the Leader of the Council - a Lib Dem (Bath & NE Somerset or BANES as it is better known) but without luck, he was hostile, rude and unfriendly.

We asked the Bath Chronicle, the local weekly paper to stop being so patronising to its readers and to report the future of the Rec with both eyes but without luck.

We issued a press release and had one radio interview on BBC Bristol.............

It was as though the political consensus in Bath had lined up with Bath FC's owners six deep....

There was an appeal against the original planning decision and the appointment of new trustees and the Judge made his feelings known last Friday.

You can read it here (our submission came under David Taylor's name):
