Hewlett Packard looks set for a take-over.

The once famous company which can rightly claimed to have helped create Silicon Valley has had two CEOs in as many years, produced a tablet (actually quite a well designed one at that) which was withdrawn almost before it had been put on sale (though there was a flourish of buyers at $99) and then bought Autonomy for far too much at $8b, has announced another set of wholesale changes.

It is time it was sold and broken up. It belongs to another era.
